No one has a right to lay his or her hands on another human being in a violent manner, especially a man. Men are labeled as the household provider and are expected to meet quite a few expectations. Men are supposed to be a woman's protector not her worst fear. I am truly disappointed in Chris Brown for his actions involving his former girlfriend, Robyn "Rihanna" Fenty. A few rumors have been circulating but the one I have heard the most is that Brown and Rihanna got into a heated dispute over a text message from another woman. Brown then reportedly hit Rihanna so hard with his fist she fell unconscious. The police report said she suffered from a busted lip and contusions on either side of her forehead. Hearing about the situation in the news was very upsetting, but after seeing the real photos of Rihanna face I was heated. Nothing should ever make a man so angry he beats on a woman until she can't defend herself anymore. Nothing in this world is that bad. Men, if you feel like you are about to go too far, walk away from the situation until you can come back later and resolve the issue. I feel like any man that could treat a woman this way is a coward. Men that feel the need to the continuously beat on women are cowards. My mom always tells me to give people chances and trust them until they give you a reason not to. In my mind if I feel like a man's language is too abusive I'll just leave him alone for good. I refuse to give anyone a chance to feel like they can control my life.

In this case with Chris Brown it shows that abusive relationships develop outside of marriage too. If any woman feels like they are in a bad relationship, leave the relationship immediately. That not only goes for physical abuse but also verbal abuse. Sometimes words sting just as much as a punch. Women can also be just as abusive. This is probably an issue the world will never completely resolve but everyone should know they do not have to suffer the abuse. There is help out there and there is always someone else willing to do better by you.

Do not think you have the power to change these kinds of people; they have to want it for themselves. Brown apologized and admitted that he could have a serious problem. He said that he is seeking counseling from his pastor. I commend Brown for his apology and for trying to seek the help he needs. CNN reporters and a number of bloggers are saying that Rihanna is a fool if she goes back to him. I do not feel that she is weak in any way simply because Brown admitted to what he did and is trying to find the help he needs. If she forgives him, that is a good thing in my eyes. No one should walk around with hatred in their hearts.

The negative energy within will eventually take affect on you as a person. To anyone who feels like they are in a situation that is unhealthy, get out now. Do not wait, there is help out there for all, you just have to want it.
