Men's golf finishes 3rd in Alabama

The men's golf team opened up their spring season in Montgomery, Ala. on Feb. 23-24 for the Wynlakes Wynter Nationals hosted by Huntington College.

The Stallions finished tied for 3rd in the event with a team score of 318-314 for a two-day total of 632. The 10-team event of all four-year colleges included Huntington College, Rhodes College, Huntington "B", ABAC, Linfield College, Alabama State University, LaGrange College, Faulkner University, Sewanee, and Talladega College.

The medalist at the event was Chase Rodgers from Huntington College. Rogers shot 72-71, for a two-day total of 143. The best individual performer in the event for the Stallions was Kaleb Ingalls who finished in 5th place carding scores of 78-72, for a two-day total of 150, finishing a mere seven shots behind the individual medalist. The next best score for the Stallions was Bernie Smith, who shot 78-80, for a two-day total of 158. Chase Grantham carded a 79-81, for a tournament total of 160. Rounding out the roster for the Stallions was K.G. Bragg and Winston Gibbs, who shot two-day totals of 168 and 170, respectively.

Tournament host, Huntington College, finished in first place at the event. The tournament was held at the par 72 Wynlakes Country Club and played at 6,979 yards.

The next tournament for the Stallions will be the Piedmont College Invitational to be held at The Creek at Hard Labor State Park in Rutledge, Ga. on March 9-10.
