Stafford predicted to go to Lions

With the 2009 NFL Draft being only a few months away, the Detroit Lions have the number one pick this year after an embarrassing 0-16 record last season.
Matthew Stafford, quarterback from the University of Georgia, is likely to be their choice. Stafford is known for his very strong and accurate throwing arm which could possibly be exactly what Detroit needs to bounce back from their long run of losing seasons.
Stafford would bring a new and young face to the Lions, and would complement the restructuring of their coaching staff, offering perhaps a "new era" to the Detroit Lions football team. Just like Matt Ryan turned around the Falcons after their unfortunate loss of Vick, I believe Stafford would have the same effect on the Lions.
Ryan was the top quarterback in the 2008 NFL Draft, and led Atlanta to an 11-5 record in 2008, earning him the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
Stafford is coming off his best season yet after throwing 61 percent with 25 touchdowns and 3,459 yards. He decided to forgo his senior year at UGA and enter the NFL Draft.
